The dunes turn gold over Lake Qarun.
Sunset
The sun slips behind Gebel Qatrani.
Nightfall
The 4×4s roll in. The fire is lit, the tea is on.
Midnight
No city lights for miles. Just you and a sky full of stars.
This could be your Friday.
Why Qatrani?
A camp between a lake and a fossil ridge
Qatrani Camp sits near the north shore of Lake Qarun, under the Gebel Qatrani escarpment it's named after: a ridge where 30-million-year-old fossils and a petrified forest lie in the open sand.
We pick you up in Cairo, drive you into the desert, and bring you home with sand in your shoes and a camera roll full of stars. Jobs fill your pocket. Adventures fill your soul.
